Rod Barto, aka "Dr. Rod," passed away on September 25, 2007.  Rod worked on many NASA space flight missions over the past 25+ years, on spacecraft and instruments for missions that literally range from one end of the solar system to the other.

A great engineer dedicated to the noble goal of exploration, and a long time friend for well over 20 years, Rod will be missed.

El Paso Times Obituary -- It seems that the El Paso Times has taken Rod's obituary off-line.  I shall ask to get permission to post it here.  The funeral home has an obituary that is posted on-line.
